My thanks to Phil and Richard for committing to this project and putting up with my demands and reworks to the original plans. Comments: Excellent! Having picked a plan for my 8x4 N gauge layout from a 1960 booklet the layout was modified and updated with the help of Richard and Phil. I got exactly what I wanted notwithstanding minor additions up to the final build and am really pleased with the quality of the build and its implementation as well as the goods supplied. It did take a while for my order to be completed but was kept abreast by photos once the layout started in earnest. I now have many years ahead to try and develop the scenery etc to the same standard and cannot wait until the Autumn to really get into it.

Comments: Many thanks for an excellent model railway. It has been built and wired to run exactly as I wanted it and works faultlessly. The electric points and controller supplied (a Morley VESTA) work brilliantly and look great. The woodwork is also fantastic and the layout should last many years. I made alterations to the plan after committing to it and the Goods Yard were happy to accommodate the revisions I made. Richard and Phil have done a great job and I would recommend their work to anyone (unlike my own scenic work - time to break out the test bench before I ruin the new layout!). Thanks again. Comments: The loft room space I have available for my layout is quite a complicated shape, and although I wanted to build the baseboard myself and do the track-laying and wiring, I hadn't a clue as to how best to fit in all the features I wanted, or whether I had sufficient space for everything. The alternatives seemed to be either to purchase CAD software and spend hours learning how to use it or buying lots of track and using the trial and error method to make everything fit, again very time consuming and frustrating. I then came across this site whilst surfing, and realised that there is a third alternative - get the professionals to do it for me! Very soon after supplying measurements of the area available and details of the features required, I received a basic plan. Following a couple of telephone conversations this plan was fine-tuned between us, and I have now received the end result, a 1:10 scale drawing and list of all the track I need. Needless to say, I am delighted with this. I now know exactly what I need to buy and that it will fit on the finished baseboard. I have saved a lot of time and stress for a very modest fee, and have been most impressed by the friendly and helpful service.

Comments: I was so impressed with the starter layout that I commissioned for last Christmas, that I placed an order for a much larger ready to run N gauge layout. I am certainly glad that I did! The layout is on two levels, so required very careful and meticulous work and then equally good packaging to protect it. The layout has a large number of points which were beautifully wired into a set of consoles and neatly run under the board in conduit throughout. A plan was also supplied that makes their operation easy. I am really pleased with the level of craftsmanship that has gone into producing the layout from baseboard modelling through track layout and onto electronic point installation. Once again I am happy to recommend "The Goods Yard" team to anyone thinking about using their services.

Comments: Many thanks for supplying my baseboard. It arrived safely and well packaged was delivered by a very polite courier man. It was so well packaged that it took me nearly 20 minutes to cut the packaging away and well labeled so the couriers did not squash the inclines. The build quality is very good and the full size plan will help in track laying. Delivered about 2 weeks earlier than expected so many thanks. Just have to wait to pay day now to start laying tracks.
